Christmas Gift
I'm not sure I've ever been given Tim Wallach cards as a Christmas gift. For one, I don't talk about my baseball card collecting very much with the people in my day to day life, the sort of people who would be inclined to give me a Christmas gift in the first place. These tend to be people who don't know much about my collecting, aren't collector's themselves, and probably find it a little daunting. I'm sure the majority of my family wouldn't be sure where to even look for cards beyond the card isle in Target. Which is fine. As collector's, we tend to be fussy, and I'm more than capable of buying myself cards throughout the year. I don't need gifts.
So I was a little shocked when a friend pulled out an all too familiar white rectangle box and handed it to me this year. I thought I hit the jackpot, a hodge podge of someone's cast away card collection. But it was even better, it wasn't a random mix junk wax, but rather, a box full of Tim Wallach cards. 531 to be exact. This person actually learned how to use eBay for this. Thank you. It's an awesome and unexpected gift.

Gifts aren't about the monetary things. That fact that someone knew about this passion of yours and learned to use eBay to do this...wow! What a great gift!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kin. Totally awesome gesture from this gift giving individual!
DeleteIncredible! And I dig the way you arranged them, like works of art.
