1987 Stuart Super Star Panels #7

Card Review: 3.5  They don't get much plainer than this.  This card is from a perforated sheet that presumably came with some sort of Stuart food product.  I'm thinking donuts or bread.  That said, I like stuff like this.  Food product cards have always been a favorite of mine.

1983 Stuart #12

Card Review: 9.4  This is a very strong effort for a promotional give-away set from Stuart (whatever they are, processed foods?).  I'm not sure how they got the go ahead to use team logo's and player's names, other than the obvious answer, they paid to.  This was another set that I didn't even know existed until twenty plus years after it's release.  This may be the best shot of Wallach wearing stirups to appear on any of his cards.  I've never fully understood why the Expos used a different shade of blue for their stirups and undershirts than they did for the hat.

1984 Stuart #14

Card Review: 9.7 This is not a bad looking card for a processed foods company promo item. It's unusual that Stuart was apparently granted the rights for both the team logo and players likeness for use on their cards.  Probably had something to do with the Expos being from Canada.  All in all the front design of this card is better than the Donruss and Fleer designs from '84.  The only thing keeping me from rating this card even higher is the lack of stats on the back.  I honestly prefer this card to the over glossed stuff Topps in putting out today. 

I didn't discover these Stuarts (there's also an '83) until about 25 years after they produced.  Its the sort of card that really would have been the center peice of my collection had I obtained one at the time they were being made.
